Making an impact in the USA.
Providing school supplies and sports gear to equip Shinnecock youth with confidence and life skills to advance individually and collectively.
The Shinnecock Indian Nation, a federally recognized tribe of Native Americans, historically has been a seafaring and fishing people famous in local lore for their bravery and heroism.
As their name implies, the Shinnecock, which roughly translates into English as “people of the stony shore,” maintain tribal lands within the geographic boundaries of present-day Southampton on the southeastern shores of Long Island, New York.
Once vast, the territories of most indigenous groups in the USA have been reduced substantially, and tribes have fought long and hard to retain even a small fraction of their former native lands.
This holds true for the Shinnecock, which to this day remains locked in legal disputes over the return of ancestral lands and for control over the usage of current lands to fund tribal assistance programs and boost their financial situation.

In this modern era, punctuated by rampant deforestation, over-development, and conspicuous consumption, the Shinnecock pursue economic interests sustainably while upholding their traditional values.
This approach requires allies and resources, of which the Shinnecock need more to succeed.
WWB is proud to support Shinnecock educational initiatives, starting as early as the formative pre-school years and up through later childhood. WWB provides Shinnecock schools and youth clubs with educational supplies, art materials, and sports equipment to encourage creative thinking and teamwork and to cultivate leadership behaviors.
